The Federal University Gusau is calling on the eligible and interested Nigerians to apply for the ongoing FUGUSAU Recruitment 2020 for the multi vacancies of Chief Security Officer, University Legal Officer, Director of Advancement and Chief Stores Officer.

Chief Security Officer (CONTISS-13)

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position holder will take charge to the Vice-Chancellor for the total security and intelligence activities of the University and ensuring the safety of the entire University community.

Chief Security Officer prevents and takes appropriate measures on security crisis conditions on the campus.

The officer is responsible for the supervision, monitoring and controlling of the sub-units in the Division.

Will be responsible for the periodic preparation of a security report for Management action.

The position holder design and prepare periodic standard training programmes for patrolmen and women.

He/she will carry out other duties assigned by the Vice-Chancellor.

The Chief Security Officer will be responsible for ensuring security surveillance within, and off-campus residence of the University.

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must possess honors degree certification acquired from a recognized University or its equivalence from a recognized institution in the relevant field such as Criminology, Law, Security Studies, Sociology or any other related discipline with a minimum of 15 years cognate experience.

Applicants must have proven skills in security work, crime detection, and prevention.

Must be physically fit.

Must be of good character.

Applicants must be retired officers and shouldn’t be below the rank of “Lt. Col in the Nigerian Army, Chief Superintendent of Police or its equivalent in other forces.”

Must be computer literate.

Applicants must not be more than the age of 50 years.

University Legal Officer (CONTISS-13)

RESPONSIBILITIES

The position holder is the Chief Legal Adviser of the University answerable to the Registrar.

He/she advises the University on the activities that concern the administration of justice, due process, procedures, and University businesses.

The University Legal Officer intervenes on the matters of the University and the University external advocates.

This position holder prepares a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between sections of the University and other organizations.

He or she is responsible for representing the University at courts and other legal fora.

The Legal Officer will work as secretary to some committees of the University.

He/she organize industrial relations and union matters within the University.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be LLB, BL holders with at least Second Class Lower acquired from a recognized University.

A minimum of ten (10) years of post-call experience is required of which at least five (5) years must have been in a tertiary institution.

Candidates must possess a call-to-bar Certificate.

National Youth Service Corps Certificate or Exemption Letter is also required for this position.

Computer literacy is a must

Director Of Advancement (CONTISS-15)

RESPONSIBILITY

This position holder has the responsibility of leading, producing and implementing a strategy to achieve an integrated Advancement programme such as clear budgets, objectives, performance measures requirements, etc. for fundraising, alumni relations, and communications.

The director works as the Chief Administrative head of the Advancement Office of the Federal University Gusau.

He/she will lead, supervise and coordinate the running of the Office.

The Director of Advancement collaborates with the Vice-Chancellor to secure higher-level support from individuals, corporations, donations and special government funding opportunities.

He/she has the responsibility for the management of the fundraising budgets as well as ensuring the University can track the return on the investment in the Advancement Office.

The Director is responsible for developing and implementing policies as well as procedures to make sure that donated funds are effectively managed in ways that are consistent with the University’s undertakings to donors and sponsors.

He/she is in charge of accomplishing the management agreed on Key Performance indicators as well as work within the Human Relations guidelines of the University.

Director of Advancement commission and supervise development communications as required.

The Director of Advancement develops and implements strategies to secure gifts that support institutional priorities and accomplish the targets of the University.

He/she is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the Policy and Procedure manual for the Office to ensure accountability.

The director will work within the governing rules and guidelines of the Federal University Gusau.

Director of Advancement generates a protocol list of friends and partners of the FUGUSAU for Mutual town/gown relationship.

The position holder will carry out other duties as may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must possess a minimum of twelve (12) years post-university graduation cognate experience in a relevant or similar University activity.

Must have a track record of teamwork and team building.

Applicants must possess good communication skills in oral and written presentations.

Proven evidence of the ability to perform the stated roles of the Director of Advancement is a must.

Chief Stores Officer (CONTISS-13)

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Chief Stores Officer oversees/Coordinates matters of the store.

He/she liaise with Procurement Officer on the procurement of goods.

Responsible to the Bursar.

He/she will carry out any other duties assigned to him by the Bursar/University.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must possess B.Sc. certification in Social Science or Commerce.

Applicants must have passed the final examination of the Institute of Purchasing and Supply with a minimum of 12 years’ post-qualification experience.
