Categories for the Nigeria Prison Service Recruitment

CATEGORY A: Superintendent Cadre

1. Superintendent of Prisons (SP) Medical, CONMESS 02: Candidates must possess degrees in M.D.S, M.D, or M.B.B.S, from a recognized university, equivalents degrees are accepted as well.
2. Superintendent of Prisons (SP) Veterinary, CONMESS 02: Candidates must be D.V.M degree holders, acquired from any recognized university.
3. Deputy Superintendent of Prisons (DSP) Pharmacy, CONHESS 09: Candidates must be a Bachelor™s of degree holders in Pharmacy, acquired from any recognized university.
4. Assistant Superintendent of Prisons. I (ASP.I) CONPASS 09: Candidates must be master™s degree holders Architecture, Engineering, Humanities, Lab. Sciences, Radiology, Social Sciences, etc, acquired from any recognized University.
5. Assistant Superintendent of Prisons II (ASP.II), CONPASS 08: Candidates must be first degree holders in Estate/Town Planning, Food Sciences, Humanities, Psychology, Public Health, Social Sciences, Social Works, etc, acquired from any recognized University.

CATEGORY B: Inspectorate Cadre

1. Senior Inspector of Prisons (SIP), CONPASS 08: Candidates must be HND holders in Estate/Town Planning, Food Sciences, Humanities, Psychology, Public Health, Social Sciences, Social Works, etc, acquired from any recognized Polytechnic or College.
2. Inspector of Prisons (IP) Nursing, CONHESS 06: Candidates must be Registered Nurses (RN), Registered Midwives (RM) or Registered Nurses/Midwives (RNM), acquired from any recognized institution.
3. Assistant Inspector of Prisons (AIP), General Duty, CONPASS 06: Candidates must be OND or NCE holders, acquired from any recognized institution.

CATEGORY C: Assistant Cadre

1. Prisons Assistant I (PAI) CONPASS 05: Candidates must possess credits in Five (5) œO Level GCE, NECO/ SSCE subjects of which English and Mathematics are compulsory, with no more than two sittings, other equivalent certificates are accepted.
2. Prisons Assistant II (PAII) CONPASS 04: Candidates must possess credits in Five (5) œO Level GCE, NECO/ SSCE subjects which should include English or Trade Test Grade II. (Artisans, Auto Electricians, Carpenters, Masons, Mechanics, Motor drivers, Plumbers, etc.), with no more than two sittings, other equivalent certificates are accepted.
3. Prison Assistant III (PA.III) CONPASS 03: Candidates must possess credits in Five (5) œO Level GCE, NECO/ SSCE subjects which should include English or Trade Test Grade II. (Artisans, Auto Electricians, Carpenters, Masons, Mechanics, Motor drivers, Plumbers, etc.), with no more than three sittings, other equivalent certificates are accepted.

Important Notice before Applying for the Nigeria Prison Service

• You must be a Nigerian by birth.
• Must between 18 and 30 years.
• You must present the required certificates or qualifications. œAny certificate or qualification not presented and accepted at the recruitment center shall not be accepted after the recruitment.
• œComputer literacy will be of added advantage.
• Candidates must not be financially embarrassed.
• You must be a cultist, drug addict or belong to any secret society.
• Certificates of medical fitness from any Government recognized Hospitals showing candidates medically must be presented.
• Candidates œmust be of good characters, and must not have been convicted of any criminal offenses.
• You must be 1.65m tall or above for males and 1.60 tall or above for females.
• You must have a chest measurement of 0.87 and above for men.
