The National Teachers Institute, NTI Bachelors Degree Programme (BDP) was organized to train the serving Grade II and NCE teachers after which the participated candidates’ certifications are upgraded to Degree level.
NTI BDP will improve the basic background of candidates who are willing to further their studies to higher levels.

NTI Bachelors Degree Program (BDP) Courses Offered
- Primary (B.A. Ed)
- Social Studies (B.A. Ed)
- English (B.A. Ed)
- Mathematics (B.Sc. Ed)
- Integrated Science (B.Sc. Ed)
- Physical and Health Education (B.Sc. Ed)
This program runs for two semesters per year for at least three or four years for all courses with a maximum of six or eight Calendar years depending on the candidate’s entry qualifications.
National Teachers Institute BDP Requirements
Applicant must possess a merit pass or (C) grade in the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and must meet the UTME minimum requirements.
Candidates who possess these criteria will spend a minimum of 3 years in this programme when admitted.
Applicant must possess a pass grade lower than (C) grade in the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) with at least 5 years of teaching experience as well as meeting the minimum UTME requirements.
Candidates in this group will spend a minimum of 4 years in this program when admitted.
Applicant must possess an upper credit in National Diploma from a recognized Institution and a relevant department.
Candidates with this qualification will spend a minimum of 3 years for this program when admitted.
B.Sc. Ed candidates must possess credit passes in English and Mathematics as well as in one of Physics, Chemistry or Biology.
English candidates must possess credit in English Language and Literature in English or credits in English Language and literature in English in the Teacher Grade II Certificate (TC II).
Every candidate must sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and meet the required score for the aspiring program.
