WAEC Recruitment

The West African Examinations Council, WAEC Recruitment is currently ongoing for the suitably qualified applicants.

The WAEC recruitment is based on multiple vacant positions in the organization; ranging from administrative, engineering to management jobs, etc. So all interested applicants should go through this post carefully to know the requirements for each position before proceeding to the application processes.

General Requirements for the WAEC Recruitment

  • Applicants should be able to use Personal Computers and MS Office software packages.
  • Good knowledge of web-based systems.
  • All officers must possess at least three (3) years of post-NYSC teaching experience.
  • Self-motivated and good report writing ability.
  • Ability to analyze and review research reports.
  • Should be ready to work extra hours with little or without supervision.
  • Team playing ability is required from all applicants
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Open and ability to lead change
  • Must have good influencing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Organizing/planning ability for flexible implementation of ideas.
  • Five (5) credit passes in 0’Level SSCE/WASSCE of which English Language and Mathematics are compulsory and must be obtained at one sitting or six (6) credits at not more than two (2) sittings which include English Language and Mathematics.
  • Must not be more than forty (40) years of age as of 14th July 2019.

ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II (Arabic)

  • Applicants must have acquired Bachelors Degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division from an accredited university in the below discipline:

– Arabic (B.A/B.Ed.)

  • Those with a higher degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation would be privileged.

ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II (Basic Electricity)

  • Applicants must have a Bachelors Degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division from an accredited university in the below-listed disciplines:

– Electrical/Electronics Engineering (B.Sc. /B.Eng. /B. Tech.)

– Vocational/Industrial Education with an option in Electrical Electronics (B.Sc. (Ed.))

  • Those who have a higher degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation would have a privilege.

ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II (Biology)

  • Applicants must possess at least a Bachelors Degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division acquired from an accredited university in the below discipline:

– Biology (B.Sc./B.Ed.)

  • Those with possession of a higher degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation would have a privilege.

ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II (Business Studies)

  • Applicants must have obtained a Bachelors Degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower from an accredited university in the below areas:

– Business Studies related areas (B.A./B.Ed./B.Sc.)

  • Those in possession of a higher degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation would have a privilege.

“ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II (Civil Subjects: (1) Woodwork (2) Furniture Making (3) Upholstery)”

  • Applicants must possess at least a Bachelors Degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division acquired from an accredited university in the below discipline:

– Industrial Education with Woodwork option (B.Sc./B.Ed.)

  • Applicants with higher degree certification in Educational Measurement and Evaluation would have an added advantage.

ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II (Economics)

  • Applicants must possess at least a Bachelors Degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division acquired from an accredited university in the below discipline:

– Economics (B.Sc./B.Ed.)

  • Applicants with higher degree certification in Educational Measurement and Evaluation would be privileged.

ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II (English Language/Literature-In-English)

ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II (French)

  • Must have a Bachelors Degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division from a recognized university in the below area:

“ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II (Garment Making and Clothing & Textile)”

  • Must possess a Bachelors Degree with at least Second Class Lower obtained from a recognized university in the below-listed discipline:

– Home Economics (B.Ed./B.Sc.)

  • Applicants who possess a higher degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation would have more advantages.

ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II (Geography)

  • Must possess a Bachelors Degree with a Second Class Lower Division from a recognized university in the below discipline:

– Geography (B.Sc./B.Ed.)

  • Possession of a higher degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation is a privilege.

ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II (Hausa)

  • Applicants should have acquired a Bachelors Degree with Second Class Lower from a recognized university in the below areas:

– A Hausa/B.A(Ed). Hausa

– A Hausa/Linguistics

  • Possession of a higher degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation is an added advantage.

ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II (History)

  • A minimum of Bachelors Degree with at least Second Class Lower from a recognized university in the below-listed area.

– A./B.Ed. History

  • Higher degree certification in Educational Measurement and Evaluation is an added advantage.

ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II (Marketing and Store Management)

  • A Bachelors Degree is required with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division obtained from an accredited university in:

– Business Education with Marketing Option (B.Sc.)

  • Applicants who have higher degree certification in Educational Measurement and Evaluation have an added advantage.

ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II (Mathematics)

  • Applicants must have gotten a Bachelors Degree with at least Second Class Lower Division from an accredited university in the below-listed area:

– Maths (B.Sc /B.Ed)

  • Possession of a higher degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation is a privilege.

“ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II (Mechanical Subjects: (1) Auto Mechanics, (2) Auto Mechanical Work)”

  • Applicants should have a Bachelors Degree certification with Second Class Lower Division from an accredited university in the below-listed area:\

– Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng. /B.Sc. /B. Tech.)

ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II (Physics)

  • Bachelors Degree with Second Class Lower Division from an accredited university is required on below discipline:

– Physics/Geo Physics with Electronics (B.Sc/B.Ed)

  • Applicants with a higher degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation have an added advantage.

ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II (Psychology)

  • Applicants must possess a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in Bachelors Degree from in:

– Psychology (B.Sc.)

  • A higher degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation is an added advantage.

ACCOUNTANT II

  • For this position, applicants must possess a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in Bachelors Degree from an accredited University.
  • Must belong to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
  • Applicants must possess at least three (3) years post professional qualification experience.

APPLICATION PROGRAMMER II

  • Applicants must possess a Bachelors Degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in Computer Science or related course from a recognized University and with at least three (3) years post-NYSC hands-on practical experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years post-NYSC hands-on practical experience is required.

The following categories of requirements is further expected from applicants:

  • Applicants should be experienced in data structures, algorithms, and software design and development.
  • Should possess proven experience in ASP Net MVC, C#, Java, and Mobile application development.
  • Should be skilled in modern web development, JavaScript, database design, and Basic SQL Construction.

Experience in any of the below-listed would be an added advantage:

  • DB2, SQLSERVER, CSS
  • JavaScript Frameworks such as Angular, JQuery, React, etc
  • Python/ A1 frameworks Natural Language processing expertise

DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR II

  • Must possess a Bachelors Degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in Computer Science (or related course) from an accredited university
  • A minimum of three (3) years post-NYSC hands-on practical experience is a must.

The following categories of requirements is further expected from applicants:

  • Advanced knowledge of Database Management Systems, structures, and theory
  • Advanced knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and XML Database Management Systems
  • Experience with DB2 and MS SQL SERVER
  • Experience in cognitive data reporting and analytic tools

COMPUTER HARDWARE MAINTENANCE ENGINEER II

  • For this position, applicants are expected to have a Bachelors’s Degree certification with at least Second Class Lower Division in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Additional Qualification: ComTIA A+ Certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years post NYSC work experience is required.

The following categories of requirements is further expected from applicants:

  • Computer Hardware, Printers, Scanners, Operating Systems, and Applications Installation and configuration
  • Monitor, maintain and repair faulty Computer Systems such as desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, etc.; and Install Updates to existing Software and also cope effectively with the replacement of spare parts.
  • Update and Upgrade existing Computer Systems and peripherals to ensure compatibility with the latest Software iterations.
  • Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
  • Set up new user’s accounts and profiles
  • Test and evaluate new technology
  • Recommend Computer Systems and peripherals based on the end user’s business needs
  • Manuals creation and training of others on hardware and software installations
  • Great knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
  • Basic understanding of Computer Networking

QUANTITY SURVEYOR II

  • A minimum of B.Sc. with Second Class Lower Division in Quantity Surveying from an accredited University.
  • Membership of NIQS is required.
  • Applicants must possess a minimum of three (3) years post NYSC relevant experience in the Construction Industry.
  • Should be able to conduct feasibility studies to estimate quantities, costs of materials, time, and labor
  • Ability to prepare, negotiate, and analyze costs for tenders and contracts documents.
  • Proficiency in Computer applications and usage
  • Be self-motivated and have the ability to write good reports
  • Applicants should be able to work with little or any supervision
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER II

  • Should have B.Sc. /B. Tech/B.Eng. with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University.
  • Applicants must be members of NSE/COREN.
  • Must possess a minimum of three (3) years post NYSC relevant experience in Building Services and Facility Management.
  • Competency in Testing and Commissioning of Mechanical Installations is required.
  • Must be flexible with the application of Mechanical Standards, Specifications, and Codes.
  • Flexible in Bid Management
  • Proficiency in Computer Applications and Usage
  • Self-motivated and have the ability to write good reports
  • Applicants should be able to work with little or any supervision
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER II

  • Should have B.Sc. /B. Tech/B.Eng. with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University.
  • Applicants must be members of NSE/COREN.
  • Must possess a minimum of three (3) years post NYSC relevant experience in Building Services and Facility Management.
  • Competency in Testing and Commissioning of Electrical Installations is required.
  • Must be flexible with the application of Electrical Standards, Specifications, and Codes.
  • Flexible in Bid Management
  • Proficiency in Computer Applications and Usage
  • Self-motivated and have the ability to write good reports

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT OFFICER II

Applicants must have gotten a Bachelor’s Degree with at least Second Class Lower Division in the Social Sciences from an accredited University.

Must be an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) or Senior HR Certifications from either the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) or the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).

A minimum of three (3) years of post-professional qualification experience is a must.

Application Procedures

Before we proceed to the application process I will list the required documents first.

  • A scanned passport photograph (7kb to 30kb storage size, dimension 275 x 314 pixels)
  • Scanned copies of Educational qualifications which include primary, secondary and tertiary certifications obtained (size should be 50kb to 120kb while dimension must be 400x600pixels to 1200x1500pixels
  • A scanned National Youth Service Corps certificate/ exemption letter of which size must be 50kb to 120kb and dimension should be between 400x600pixels to 1200x1500pixels.
  • Scanned copies of Professional certifications where applicable and the size should be 50kb to 120kb while dimension should be between 400x600pixels to 1200x1500pixels
  • Employment history must include the name of the employer, position or post held, responsibilities, and duration of employment.
  • At least three (3) years cognate experience
  • A minimum of three (3) references

  • Click on the ‘Register’ link if you have not previously registered on the portal.
  • Fill the registration form online and submit it; a “Verification Code” will be sent to your registered email address.
  • Use the Verification Code send to your email and verify your WAEC Recruitment portal account (you can as well follow an instruction sent to your email to verify your account).
  • Login to your WAEC Recruitment account and complete your application.
